Watch out for wildlife on local roads and highways.
That’s the message from officials at the British Columbia Conservation Foundation.
They say the times to be especially vigilant are between 6 and 8 a.m. and 5 and 7 p.m.
Motorists and passengers are being warned to be even more careful while travelling along high risk corridors such as on Highway 2 between Dawson Creek and the Alberta Border and on Highway 97 from Fort St. John to Dawson Creek.
Officials say drivers should obey all posted speed limits and pay attention to road hazard notifications, including digital signboards with wildlife warning messages.
