The Enerplex will be having its grand opening next Wednesday, complete with a statue unveiling and a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will also include the local band ‘Folky Strum Strum’ playing in the lobby, Janet Prestley, director of legislative and administrative services, told Issues and Answers, Wednesday.
Prestley says there will also be a procession of minor hockey athletes, carrying signs about what sport means to them, onto the ice surface.
The City has also announced that it will unveil the organization that has received the naming right for the complex.
Residents will also be able to see a video outlining the entire construction of the Enerplex, along with various speeches by various dignitaries.

The event will culminate with a fireworks display taking place at the Toboggan Hill.
