Talisman Energy officially opened their new office in Fort St. John, on Wednesday.
The company has been operating in the region for several years, but due to a strategic adjustment to focus on more shale gas exploration, it decided to open a 15 person office in Fort St. John.
Talisman representative Dick Unsworth says the company plans to invest over $330 million in the Montney shale area.

Residents in the North Peace have been concerned about water usage during the fracking process needed to extract natural gas. However, Unsworth says recycling is important to the company’s process.
