A suspicious person has been soliciting for money in Fort St. John.

The Fort St. John RCMP received a complaint of an unknown male going door to door asking for money on September 18th. The male reportedly attended a residence and asked for $33.00 for a taxi, stating that he was the cousin of a next door neighbour.

The male was given $40 and left. There was no taxi in sight and the next door neighbour stated she did not have a male cousin.

The unknown male was polite, non threatening and not violent. The RCMP are still investigating the mater at this time.

The RCMP are reminding people to be weary when approached by an unknown person who is looking for money.
