This morning’s frost covering may be causing problems for farmers in the Peace Country.
With the cool temperatures overnight, frost reached into many parts of northern Alberta and the B.C. Peace region.
The frost could potentially kill immature wheat and canola crops and is threatening to exacerbate market jitters about global wheat supplies.
Stuart McMillan with the Canadian Wheat Board says the fields are too wet for a swather, let alone a combine and grain trucks to travel on.
McMillian believes the situation is so bad the best a farmer could do is sit back and cross his fingers.
