Fort St. John RCMP have arrested one man and seized more than 30 grams of cocaine after looking for a stolen wallet.

The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. Thursday, when police were searching the area of 81 St. and 94 Ave. for two men who had stolen a wallet from a vehicle.

They then located one male – matching one of the suspect’s descriptions – walking with two females.

Police say when they tried to stop the man, he refused to stop and instead tried to hide behind a structure.

When police found the man, they discovered there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest for trafficking cocaine.

They also found 30 grams of cocaine where he had tried to hide.

Glen Levey is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. He has already appeared in court and was released with strict conditions that include abiding by a daily curfew.

He is next scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 29.
