Environment Canada says it has not yet confirmed them, but it does say it received reports just after 9pm (Alberta time) last night, of a tornado that touched down, about five kilometers south of Grande Prairie.
The reports did prompt the government weather agency to issue a tornado warning for the area extending west to Beaverlodge.
Severe thunderstorm activity was again reported across the prairies, with hail larger than a quarter, heavy rain and strong winds associated with one that hammered the city of Calgary.
Environment Canada says it looks like central Saskatchewan, most of Manitoba and northwestern Ontario will bear the brunt of these storms today.
