Dan Davies has announced he will seek the federal Conservative nomination for the Prince George-Peace River riding.
The announcement comes less than a day after Bob Zimmer also announced his candidacy.
Davies is a Fort St. John city councillor and a director with the Restorative Justice Society.
He has been involved in municipal politics for six years and says he would like to bring those experiences forward in the federal race.
He says part of his platform involves ensuring the resource-based communities in the riding remain sustainable.

Another aspect of his platform involves the inclusion of alternative means of justice – including restorative justice – for certain crimes. Restorative justice usually involves bringing the victim and the offender together through a mediated discussion to choose a suitable punishment.
He says he believes this is a good way for first-time offenders and minor offences.

He says it is also important to further strengthen the economy to move out of the current recession.
Davies was born in Fort St. John and has spent most of his life here. He received his Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University and is currently a teacher at C.M. Finch Elementary School.
