Travis Edward Vader is now officially considered a suspect in the McCann disappearance.
The RCMP have announced that Vader is considered a suspect in the disappearance of Lyle and Marie Ann McCann, both in their late 70s.
He had previously been considered a person of interest – someone who may have information about a crime – but has now been identified as a person who is suspected to have committed a crime.
The McCanns were reported missing on July 10 when they failed to show up at a pre-arranged place to meet family who had not heard from them since July 3.
They had been driving a white gulfstream motorhome, which was found burned on July 5, and also had a light green Hyundai Tucson.
On July 16, the RCMP announced that they had found the Tucson between Edson and Niton in Alberta.
