The Fort St. John RCMP and the Charlie Lake Fire Department are investigating a suspicious house fire on Charlie Lake Crescent.

The fire broke out shortly before 10pm on Saturday and Charlie Lake Fire Chief Al Pinkerton says the call came in as a structure fire.

At one point fire crews from both Fort St. John and Charlie Lake were on scene to fight the fire.

Neighbours say the house was a rental property that is currently unoccupied. The cause of the fire, that destroyed the home, is still under investigation.
