The Fort St. John RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in finding those who are responsible for stealing several stop signs.
Approximately 14 stop signs were stolen from the area around CM Finch Elementary School overnight on Monday.
They were taken from between 110 and 114 Ave. on 104, 108, and 109 streets.
Police say they also received a report of someone trying to steal another sign at 112 Ave. and 90 St., Tuesday night.
The person was apparently unsuccessful and instead spray painted the sign.
Police say no accidents have been reported as a result of the thefts but are asking drivers to be cautious when approaching uncontrolled intersections.
