The blowout at the Encana well bore northeast of Fort Nelson has been capped.
Encana spokesperson Carol Howes says that as of about 2 p.m. Wednesday, the well had been capped and the fire had been put out.
The fire began just after 5 a.m. Saturday and well control service equipment and crews were brought in over the course of the weekend to handle the blaze.
The well was situated in a remote area and there was not much concern about the fire spreading further.
Only one person sustained minor injuries from the blowout and was treated onsite.
