There will be a Town Hall meeting at seven o’clock tonight at the Enerplex, to further discuss flash flood assistance.
The city has confirmed that the province has approved disaster financial assistance for victims of the July 29th thunderstorm, that overwhelmed the drainage system in part of the southeast sector.
However, it’s noted that residents who wish to be considered for help must claim uninsurable damage, like overland flooding and that insurable damage, such as sewer backup, is not covered.
Provincial representatives are slated to be at tonight’s meeting to answer questions and provide advice on how to deal with the claims process.
