The Fort St. John Rebels men’s slow-pitch team finished in 7th place at the Canadian championships in Langley on the weekend.
After posting an impressive 4-0 record in the round robin, the Rebels advanced to the double-elimination playoffs as one of the top defensive teams in the tournament.
Fort St. John opened the playoffs with a loss to the Mars Mariners, before beating the Quebec Angels 14-8.
Needing a win to stay alive, the Rebels then fought back from a five-run deficit before losing to ‘Team Combat’ in extra-innings.
The Rebels now return home, with another trip to the Vancouver-area set for late August, for the 2010 Provincial Championships.
