Several local cowboys and cowgirls took part in the at the National High School Rodeo in Wyoming over the weekend.
The action which brought together competitors from as far away as Australia, featured local cowboy Stephen Culling. Culling was the big winner as he brought home the steer wrestling title in a time of 3.779. Culling was able to clinch the win on a $500 horse that was purchased at auction and was likely headed to the meat market.
Hayden Huxley of Hudson’s Hope finished 37. Jake Watson, also of Hudson’s Hope, had strong results finished 64th in Tie Down roping and 41st in the saddle bronc competition which helped Watson to finish as the 9th place overall rookie cowboy.
