Two graduates of the first Northern Medical Program are going to be continuing their practices in Peace River region.
Dr. Jennifer Parker has opened up a family practice at the Fort St. John Medical Clinic after graduating from the program.
Her practice will include maternity services and palliative care.
The NMP program was started to increase the number of practicing doctors in the North by having them train in the North.
The NMP began in 2004 to help double the number of doctors trained in the province. It is run through the UBC Faculty of Medicine in association with UNBC, Northern Health and various doctors throughout B.C.
Dr. Philip Fitzpatrick will also be setting up a family practice in Tumbler Ridge.
