The Prince George Fire Centre is urging the public to be careful when having a campfire.
Temperatures are expected to get up to 30 degrees this weekend and most of the region has a fire danger rating that is moderate to high.
Both Fort St. John and Dawson Creek are listed as having an extreme hazard risk.
As the temperatures climb, there is also a lack of humidity that will contribute to drier forests.
Residents are reminded that new regulations are in effect and state that campfires can not be bigger than 0.5 metres high or wide.
Campers must also have a one metre clear area around their fires, with eight litres of water and a shovel nearby.
Fire crews have already responded to 149 wildfires this season, 112 of them were caused by people.
