MLA Blair Lekstrom says he will not rule out running as an MP in the next federal election.
The South Peace MLA told Moose FM’s “Issues and Answers”, Wednesday, that he is not going to limit any of his future options.
Lekstrom resigned as energy minister and as a member of the Liberal caucus, last week, saying that his decision was because of the controversy over the HST and that although he does not disagree with the tax, he disagrees with how it is being implemented.
The current MP for Prince George/Peace River, Jay Hill, has said he may not seek re-election and Lekstrom may look to take the job.
Lekstrom says although he is not currently thinking about anything long-term, he may consider running.
