The body of a person who fell into the Liard River has been found near Fort Liard.
The Fort Liard RCMP received a call about a body in the river 9 miles south of the community on Saturday. The body was found by a local boater and has been identified as 66 year-old Isadore Lomen.
Lomen went missing on Sunday May 30th after falling into the Liard River about 36km south of the NWT/BC Border. The RCMP in Fort Liard continue to help the Fort Nelson RCMP investigate this incident.
The RCMP are reminding the public that the proper use of a life jacket can help to prevent incidents like this.
