Washington’s Steve Higgins took first place overall, at the sixth annual International Chainsaw Carving Competition in Chetwynd this weekend.
Higgins’ carving (seen below) allowed him to beat out second place finisher Ken Packie (Massachusetts) and third place, People’s Choice, and Carver’s Choice winner Chris Foltz (Oregon).
In the quick-carve event, the pieces were sold at auction, and the money raised was given back to the carvers, to allow them to recoup some of their expenses.
