The holiday weekend resulted in the introduction of a new common posted price for a regular liter of gasoline in Fort St. John.
It is now a dollar 10.9, three cents less than it was this time last week, but still nearly 10 cents more than a month ago.
Meantime, the price of crude oil continued to tumble in early morning overseas trading.
It fell about two and half dollars U.S. and below 68 dollars a barrel.
At last report, the Canadian dollar had also suffered a significant drop of about two cents, and just ahead of the offical North American market opening it was trading at 92.4 cents U.S.
It was just a month ago that the loonie and it’s U.S counterpart were virtually at par.
