A 14 year old boy is dead and the RCMP is seeking public assistance in locating the driver of a red colored vehicle, following a hit and run accident last night in Fort St. John.
Shortly after 7.30 police responded to a call at the intersection of 76th street and 89th avenue.
They say the unidentified boy was riding his bicycle south bound on 76th street, when he was struck by a westbound vehcile on 89th avenue, which fled the scene traveling in the same direction.
The victim suffered head injuries and was later pronounced dead at Fort St. John Hospital.
Police believe several witnesses to the incident came to the assistance of the fatally injured boy, and they’re asked to call Constable Jackelynn Passarell at the local detachment, or crimestoppers numbers.
Wednesday morning, Moose FM’s Dwight Ford was able to speak with Constable Jackelynn Passarell about the investigation. Â The following is an un-cut copy of the that interview.
