The search continues for the vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run on the streets of Fort St. John, last night.
At a press conference this afternoon at the scene of the accident, Constable Jacqueline Passarell, of the Fort St. John RCMP detachment, said it was a 14 year-old boy, who was riding his bike along 76th street, when he was struck by a vehicle heading westbound on 89th Avenue, at around 7:30 on Tuesday night.

The boy, who was a student at the Dr. Kearney Jr. High school, suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, soon after.
The driver of the vehicle, however, did not stop, prompting this emotional plea from Constable Passarell, this afternoon.

Passarell says he wasn’t wearing his helmet at the time, which was unusual for him, though she also says it’s unlikely he would have survived either way.
All police really know is that it’s red, and would likely have sustained some damage to the passenger side.
