Charges laid in connection with Chetwynd assault cases

Two separate drug-related assaults that happened in Chetwynd have led to several charges.

The first incident happened on April 25th. Chetwynd RCMP learned that a male was being assaulted in a Chetwynd home.

Officers entered the residence and arrested Curtis Edward Olsen. The police investigation revealed that Olsen had assaulted people other than the complainant, before the RCMP arrived.

Olsen now faces ten Criminal Code charges including assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and forcible confinement.

A separate incident happened three days later on April 28th. A woman contacted the Chetwynd RCMP, and told officers that she had been the victim of an attempted murder, and had been held in a residence against her will.

Police learned that the woman was invited to a home for drinks. When she arrived, she was choked and gagged by someone with a plastic bag.

The woman somehow convinced her assailants to let her go, and she managed to escape.

Officers arrived at the residence and arrested Ann Margaret Lambert and Brian Supernault. The pair has been charged with attempted murder, unlawful confinement, and robbery. Lambert was further charged with assault in the incident.
