The Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce continues its fight to level the playing field for oil and gas service companies.
Chamber President Russ Beerling says a policy was recently supported by the B.C. Chamber Policy Review Committee.

The Leveling the Playing Field policy will push for more enforcement at the B.C./Alberta border.
Beerling says the policy will now be debated at the B.C. Chamber’s Annual General Meeting in May.

If the proposal is accepted at the AGM, it will be included in a policy manual, which will be presented to the Provincial and Federal governments.
In April, the local Chamber submitted another proposal to the B.C. Chamber Policy Review Committee, calling for an HST exemption for B.C. restaurants. However, that policy did not garner enough support from the Committee.
