**Update – Power has been restored as of 8:45am.

 

Over 3,500 customers in Fort St. John are currently without power.

BC Hydro reports the outage started at 5:40am and that power should be restored by 9am.  The outage affects homes North of 79th avenue, East of 108th street, South of 115 avenue and West of 78 street.

BC Hydro says power will be restored in stages.  According to reports, some areas have already had their power restored.

At this time they say the outage is under investigation.
