The Fort St. John RCMP say drug activity within an apartment suite may have caused the explosion and fire.
The Fort St. John Fire Department and the RCMP responded to the explosion at 9820 102 avenue Friday night. All of the buildings residences were evacuated safely and no one suffered life threatening injuries.
Accommodations for the displaced residents were arranged through the City of Fort St. John Emergency Coordinator. At this time, its unknown when residents can return to their homes as the building will need to undergo an inspection to determine if it is safe.
If you are a tenant of the building, contact LI-CAR Management Group at 250-785-2662 for updates on when you may enter the building to retrieve belongings.
