The RCMP now say they are searching a local landfill in connection to the disappearance of Abigail Andrews.
Energeticcity.ca and Moose FM have learned the RCMP are searching the North Peace Landfill just outside of Fort St. John. As a result of their investigation, the RCMP and North Peace Search and Rescue are conducting the search. Numerous tips from the public have helped move the investigation forward.
It’s unknown what led officers to begin searching the landfill.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Annie Linteau wouldn’t say what investigators are looking for, or if any evidence has surfaced in the landfill. She also wouldn’t say if investigators are searching any other locations in Fort St. John.
Abigail Andrews was last seen on Wednesday April 7th, walking away from her residence. Abigail’s family reported her missing to police on Friday April 9th.
