The Dawson Creek RCMP are reporting that South Peace Secondary School was on lock down for a short period Wednesday afternoon.

The release from the RCMP doesn’t not provide a lot of details, but states there was a possible threat to the school.  The school voluntarily went into lock down while members of the Dawson Creek RCMP investigated the threat.  The school was locked down for around 2 hours while Police investigated rumours that started after the noon hour.  The rumours were that someone was going to enter the school and cause harm to fellow students.

It was determined that there was no threat to the public and members of the Dawson Creek RCMP continue to investigate the incident.  At this time the RCMP have not released any further information.
