Fort St. John residents will see an influx of Daffodils sprouting up around the City.

That’s because on Monday’s City Council meeting, councilors proclaimed April 9th as Daffodil Day for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Fort St. John’s Unit President, Teresa Walsh outlined the campaign to councilors on Monday.

She says the Daffodil has been symbolic of the Society since the late 1920’s.

This year, the Society is combining April (which is Cancer Awareness Month) with its annual Daffodil Campaign.

Organizers will be distributing daffodil pins to the community days leading up to April 9th. Pins are for sale by donation.

The goal is to raise funds for both the BC and Yukon branches of the Canadian Cancer Society.
