Starting tomorrow, recycling depots in the region will once again be accepting all colors of glass food containers.

In addition, here in Fort St. John, glass will also be accepted again as part of the curbside recycling collection service.
The Eco-Depot is asking all curbside participants to place their glass containers in a reusable, not cardboard, box and place it beside their blue bags on collection day.
It says at this time glass will still “not” be accepted at the depot’s unmanned recycling bin sites at 10107 94th avenue.
However, plans are in the works for this to occur at a later date once an altenative collection method, which reduces contamination has been developed.
The public is also again reminded to make sure all glass containers are clean with lids and labels removed and that drinking glasses, ceramics, cookware, incandescent bulbs, mirrors, windows and plate glass are not recyclable.
In addition, glass beverage containers with a deposit should still be taken to any of the local area bottle depots.
