Gary Hilderman won the final Two Rivers Roubaix race and the Roubaix Cup, Sunday, in a thrilling three rider sprint finish. He edged out Kevin Shaw and Pat Ferris to win the three race gravel road series with 13 points. Kevin Shaw was second in the series with 12 points and Pat Ferris third with 7.
      Nine riders started the Two-Rivers Roubaix, the final Roubaix Cup Series race of the 2010 season. Gary Hilderman and Kevin Shaw were deadlocked at 8 points each with the winner getting the Roubaix Cup in this 15 edition. Conditions were civilized at +9 in a fierce south wind and a somewhat dry gravel section on the 35 km race.
      Three time Cup winner Pat Ferris stretched out the pack on the first gravel hill, allowing him and Kevin Shaw to pull away for a lead of a minute over third place Gary Hilderman. Gary clawed his way back to the leaders by the start of the Two-Rivers hill on the second lap. The group stayed together to the finish with Hilderman easily winning the sprint from Kevin Shaw and Pat Ferris. Their time was 1:16:18 hours. 2008 Cup winner Bob Andrews won the sprint for 4th from George Gamble and Gord ‘The Hammer’ Harris. Their time was 1:21:15.
      Barb Polehoykie won the 1 lap with a 1:01:31 with Ken Nix second at 1:05:50 and Larry Joice third at 1:14:47.Â

      Coming up is the 25th Edition of the Spring Stage Race. This Series consists of 8 races starting Good Friday April 1 and ends April 11 with the famous Rocky Road Race, in Taylor. Pat Ferris has won this event 5 times and is the defending winner. Bob Andrews is a three time Spring Stage Race winner.
      First race is the Baldonnel time trial at 6:15 PM.
