The local RCMP says two young children, who built a campfire next to the building caused the fire in a large hay barn early last evening, northeast of the city.

 

It was located in the area of the 255 and Airport roads, and Fort St. John fire-fighters kept the flames from spreading to nearby buildings and fields.

However, they were unable to keep them from engulfing hay…and a truck and swather inside the barn….

There were no injuries reported, and police say charges are “not” being considered.
