Boaters rescued on the Peace River

Just before 11pm on Saturday March 13th, the Fort St. John RCMP received a call that three males were stuck in a boat on the Peace River.

The males had been stranded on a gravel bar since earlier Saturday afternoon and were exposed to the elements.  A concerned friend was able to retrieve the boaters and help them return to shore safely.

No injuries were sustained and the RCMP will not be pursuing charges.

The RCMP want to remind the public to be aware of safe boating practices and to be prepared for an emergency situation when out on the water.
