Small fire quickly extinguished at Bert Bowes

By Jon Zacks

Fort St. John’s Assistant Fire Chief, Curtis Redpath, has confirmed there was a small fire at Bert Bowes school on Friday.

Redpath says the fire was in the lobby of the school, and had been put out with a fire extinguisher by the time crews arrived.

He says there were no injuries, and only minor damage.  The school was briefly evacuated as a precaution.

Redpath says the investigation into the blaze is still underway.
