Flyers to play Prince George & Whitehorse

By Jon Zacks

With their NPHL season coming to an end on Saturday, Fort St. John’s Senior Flyers are officially announcing more exhibition games.

With the Flyers excluded from the NPHL playoffs this year, and still in limbo regarding their participation in the Savage Cup (the B.C. Senior ‘AAA’ Championship), the Flyers have booked five games against other Senior teams.

On February 20th, the Flyers will take on the Prince George Mohawks, in the neutral site of MacKenzie B.C.

On March 6th and 7th, the Mohawks will head to Fort St. John, for a pair of games at the North Peace Arena.

The next weekend, the Flyers head to the Yukon.  On March 13th and 14th, the Flyers visit Whitehorse, to take on the Senior ‘AAA’ Huskies.

"We’re excited about it" says Flyers Coach Adam Brash.  "We’re still waiting to hear about the Savage Cup, which is a real big item for us."  But, Brash knows at this point, simply getting his team into more competitive games is of vital importance.

Both teams should offer some stiff competition, with Whitehorse hoping to earn a berth in this year’s Allan Cup, and Prince George mulling a jump to the Senior ‘AAA’ ranks next year.
