Western Financial giving kids a good night's sleep

By Christine Rumleskie

It will be a good night for more 1,000 kids in Fort St. John.

The city’s Western Financial Group is spearheading a ‘Good Night, Sleep Tight’ PJ Campaign for kids who are experiencing a tough time.

The local branch is trying to raise money for PJ’s, toothbrushes, bedtime books, and other nighttime necessities.

Branch Manager Connie Sall says the items will be packaged into kits, and distributed to women shelters and even foster parents.

Western Financial has committed $10,000 towards the campaign, but with a goal of $40,000 Sall says more donations are needed.

However, she has added that there’s been ongoing support from the community. The Fort St. John BC Liquor Store has donated 1,000 teddy bears from its twin bear program.

The campaign is ongoing, and kits are being assembled as donations roll in.
