Support Fort St John News

The local RCMP detachment confirms it received an assistance call about 3.30 this morning from a man investigating officers have described as heavily intoxicated.

A subsequent search found an injured man, who claimed to have been assaulted, lying on the sidewalk on 99th avenue across from the Open Learning Centre.

Police say he had a broken nose and was also suffering from multiple head and facial lacerations.

They also say he wasn’t very cooperative and was unsure about the alleged assault details.

Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed an early morning attack in the aforementioned area and they are taking public information assistance calls at the usual local RCMP detachment and toll free crime stoppers numbers…250-787-8140…1-800-222-8477.
