Speed Skating Provincials underway at the Enerplex

The first sanctioned event on the Enerplex oval started Saturday morning in Fort St. John.

The BC Provincial speed-skating championships will see around 130 skaters from all over the province attend. In an interview earlier this week, Meet Co-ordinator Dee-Ann Stickel said "We’re very excited about hosting it" she says.   "It’s a beautiful facility, and we can’t wait to show it off."

Below are the results based on the sub total of points in each division after day 1.

Master Male – Mitch Griffin

Master Female – Sandra Sulyma
Int Male – Jamie Inglis
Juvenile Male- Aedan Griffin
Juvenile Female – Hilary Desmarais
Juvenile Male – Mitchell McCullough
Juvenile Female – Sara Spence
Midget Male- Eric Spence
Midget Fem – Sarah Graham
Bantam Male – Nicolas Awank
Bantam Female –  Dana Coulter
Peewee Male – Joshua Telizyn
Peewee Female – Yuna Lovell

We will have more detailed results once the meet wraps up on Sunday. The competition will continue on Sunday starting bright and early at 8am.
