NEB to start Mackenzie Valley Pipleline hearings in April

The National Energy Board now says it will hear final arguments on the giant Mackenzie Pipeline Project beginning April 12th in Yellowknife.

The regulatory process for the 1,200 kilometre, 16 billion-dollar natural-gas pipeline through the Northwest Territories has been going on for decades.

However, just last week a federally appointed panel weighing the environmental and socio-economic effects of the project handed down a years-overdue report.

It concluded the pipeline should go ahead on the condition all of its 176 recommendations are met.
