Fort St. John Mayor Bruce Lantz was the guest speaker at the Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Tuesday.
Lantz outlined the successes of 2009, one of which was the water metre implementation.
He says over the course of one year, the new metres have helped conserve 750 million litres of water.

Lantz says 750 million litres of water could almost supplement double of Fort St. John’s population.
Meanwhile, city council is in the preliminary stages of budget preparations. Lantz says there’s going to be plenty of opportunity for the community’s input during the process.
There are public consultation meetings slated for February 15th and March 1st. More details on those consultations will be released once they become available.
But Lantz encourages anyone with ideas or suggestions to forward them to City Hall as soon as possible.
