Responding to the weekend resignation of Veteran Affairs Minister Greg Thompson, Prime Minister Harper has moved ten Conservative MP’s into new cabinet portfolios.
The key change is a three way shuffle involving Peter Van Loan, Vic Toews and Stockwell Day.
Van Loan moves to International Trade, Toews moves to Public Safety, and Day advances to the Teasury Board.
None of the Tory stars were impacted by the changes, with Jim Flaherty and Peter MacKay, among others, retaining their finance and defence portfolios.
Also staying put, despite some promotion speculation to the contrary, was Prince George/Peace River MP, Jay Hill, who continues as government house leader.
