Avalanche warning in effect for Northern Rockies

A widespread avalanche warning has been issued for many popular B-C backcountry skiing and snowmobiling destinations.

The Canadian Avalanche Centre cautions there could still be danger in the Northern Rockies, Cariboo, the Selkirk Mountains and the Purcell Range until at least Sunday.

It is urging backcountry travellers to stay on low-angle, simple terrain, as conditions aren’t expected to improve until next week.
