Update – Boardwalk Rental Communities is holding a meeting for tenants of Eagle Manor displaced by Saturday’s major structure fire.  The session for residents to receive information and make enquiries will be held at the Church of Christ at 7 p.m. Monday. The property management company is providing accommodation to any residents needing housing.

A massive apartment fire is out in Grande Prairie.

At approximately 4am Saturday morning, Fire crews were called to the Eagle Manor at 9701 92nd ave in Grande Prairie. When crews arrived the fire had fully engulfed the 30-unit building.

Thankfully no injuries have been reported. Fire crews were called in from as far away as Sexsmith to help fight the blaze.

A reception area has been setup at the nearby Church of Christ with emergency accommodations and food for the displaced residents. If you have a family member or friend who lived in the building you can call the reception centre at 780-538-4211.

The original cause of the fire is still under investigation, but CTV News Edmonton is reporting that the fire may have started in a vacant apartment and at this point the building appears to be a total write off.
