In what appears to be a response the Encana bombings in the South Peace, Shell Canada is taking the unprecedented step, of revealing its oil and gas activity, in Northeast BC, to try to ease any public concerns.
Shell official Andrew Dahlin says, the company wants to engage the community and let people know what it’s doing. The effort comes, after six bombings over the last year, which have targeted pipeline facilities owned, by calgary-based EnCana Corporation.
Despite an extensive RCMP investigation, no one has been arrested. Although it’s been speculated, the person behind the bombings may have a grudge, against Encana or possibly the entire oil and gas industry, regarding its acitivities in the region.
