More H1N1 vaccines available; Clinic today in Fort St. John

The country’s chief public health officer says many more Canadians will be eligible for swine flu vaccinations, this week and next, as several million more doses become available.

Doctor David Butler-Jones says vaccine shipments are now flowing well, despite initial slowdowns.

However, here in BC, it will still be December, before the general public is included, among those elgibile to receive the shots.

That’s the word from the province’s chief medical health officer, Dr. Perry Kendall, who has repeated his contention, that the spread of the flu has levelled off…. [asset|aid=2143|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=61036b0ab1c5bfa5d17ab35abc7b4d19-Doctor Kendall_4_Pub.mp3]

That said however, he also expects this area, will follow suit, in the next week or so.

Meantime, another local clinic for those in the newly expanded priority groups is scheduled to run, from 10am to 7pm today, at the Pomery Hotel ballroom.  More information can be found at the Northern Health website www.northernhealth.ca.
