Police investigate 'suspicious' Doig River death

The Fort St. John RCMP are reporting a weekend death on the Doig River First Nations Reserve.

On Sunday October 25th, at shortly after 9:00 a.m., Fort St. John RCMP attended a residence in the community, where they discovered a deceased male.   The residence was secured, though at this point, police are only saying that the death is ‘suspicious’.

The investigation is now underway, and police say they will be conducting interviews with people who were present, and also conducting an autopsy.

The investigation will involve Forensic Identification Specialists, members of the North District Major Crime Unit, the Fort St. John General Investigation Section, the North District General Investigation Section, and the First Nations Policing Unit.
