Flyers open season Saturday

The Fort St. John Senior Flyers open their 2009/2010 regular season on Saturday night, when they host the Grande Prairie Athletics.

The Flyers will raise their 2009 Campbell Cup Championship banner to the rafters before the game, which starts at 8:30 at the North Peace Arena.

In other Flyers news, the team has agreed to an affiliation with the Dawson Creek Senior Canucks for the season.  The upshot of this agreement is that former Flyers including Adam Loncan, Dustin Kersey, and goaltender Rod Branch could all be available to the Flyers for their Allan Cup run.

The Flyers play their first exhibition games of the season next weekend.   On Saturday night (Oct. 24), the Flyers visit Stony Plain to take on the Eagles.  On Sunday, the Flyers travel to Onion Lake, Saskatchewan, for a clash with the Lloydminster Border Kings.
