Vancouver airport showcases Fort St. John video

This video will be played at the Vancouver Airport in the days leading up to the Olympic Games

The Vancouver Airport Authority premiered 15 videos showcasing B.C. communities on Monday.

Fort St. John is one of the cities that will be promoted in the YVR airport in the months leading up to the Olympic Games.

In June, the YVR presented each community with $10,000, and filmmakers were selected with help from local Spirit of B.C. Community Committees.

The films will play on select video screens throughout YVR and online at www.yvrconnections.com leading up to and during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympics Winter Games.

The Vancouver Airport expects to handle more than 17 million passengers in 2009, and as many as 80 thousand per day, during the games.

The communities that participated in the program all have direct flights to and from YVR: Campbell River, Castlegar, Cranbrook, Fort St. John, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Penticton, Port Hardy, Prince George, Prince Rupert, Terrace, Tofino, Victoria, and Williams Lake.
