UPDATE: (last updated at 1:48 p.m.) – Choy says services should be restored by 2:20 p.m. Shaw does not have information on how the line broke, because the fibre-optic cable is owned by a third party. However, internet and video services to both Dawson Creek and Fort St. John will be restored.
Shaw internet customers in the Peace region could be without service for a while.
A fiber-optic cable has once again been severed somewhere between Dawson Creek and Fort St. John.
Spokesperson Newton Choy says the company still has to locate where the incident happened.
Choy will be keeping the public informed throughout the day. Internet and video signals are down for customers in both Dawson Creek and Fort St. John.
